At least 91 persons, were said to have been
abducted by Boko Haram men between
Thursday and Sunday from the
Kumanza,Yaga and Dagu, Damboa and
Dagu, Damboa and Askira Uba Local
Government Areas of Borno State, local vigilante officials said yesterday night. Four other villagers were killed while
attempting to escape from their abductors,
said Aji Khalil, Chairman, Sector 5 of the
local vigilante group in Borno State.
Continue… Khalil who spoke on the telephone said:
“More than 60 women were among the
villagers abducted by Boko Haram
terrorists. “Some suspected Boko Haram members
invaded Kumanza, Yaga and Dagu villages
and kidnapped 91 persons. “More than 60 married women and young
girls as well as children and young men
were forcefully taken away by Boko Haram
terrorits. Four villagers, who tried to
escape were shot dead on the spot”, Khalil
said on telephone yesterday night. Another source said: ”They went from one
village to the other, killed about 30 people
and took away many children and women.”
He added that hundreds of villagers around
the area have now fled to Lassa to take
refuge. The attacks were not immediately known in
Maiduguri because of the remoteness of
the area. The affected villages are about
100 kilometres away from Maiduguri,
Borno State capital. There was no official confirmation either
by the military or police in the state at
press time. Also, chairman of Damboa
Local Government, Alhaji Alamin
Mohammed could not be reached on his
mobile phone while the council  secretary, Modu  Mustapha insisted he was not
authorized to speak on the matter. Meanwhile,  four suspected Boko Haram
members have been arrested in Lassa few
kilometres away to Kummabza,
Gurdlagwal, Yafa and Yaza villages attacked
weekend, residents said. The four men were arrested while
purchasing large quantities of foodstuffs at
Lassa market, yesterday. The quantity of
food items being purchased by the men,
according to the source aroused the
suspicion of traders and people in the market. “People suspected the four men may be
Boko Haram errand men, who came to the
market to buy foodstuffs and also spy for
the insurgents. “We’ve handed them over
to the military for investigation,” a resident
said.

WW
Here are the face and pictures of some chibok girls kidnapped by bokoharam

See the faces & names of
some of the kidnapped Chibok
girls Here are the faces and names of some of the
school girls kidnapped on April 14th in the Chibok
community in Borno state by Boko Haram men.

Photos released by ThisDay Newspaper. UN Special Envoy for Global Education, and former
UK Prime Minister, who was in Nigeria this week
shares his experience. Find the article he wrote
about the Chibok girls below.. "I was shown these pictures after visiting
Nigeria this week.

I met the leader of the
community council in Chibok, the town from
which the girls were abducted. Slowly and with tears in his eyes, he flicked
through a file in which he had recorded the
names and photographs of the girls.

Continue... Not even the police and Army have managed
to compile such detail he has amassed from
talking to the parents of the kidnapped
teenagers. The file has 185 pages — one for every girl.
Each page has a photograph, and beside
each passport-sized picture some stark facts
— the girl’s name, her school grade and the
date of abduction.

For the other 19 abducted
girls, he has yet to locate photographs. He will. The community leader and the girls’ families
have given permission for their names and
photographs to be put into the public domain
so the world is reminded of the missing girls.
He is being helped to publicize this by Arise
TV chief Nduka Obaigbena.

There is also a file on the 53 girls who
escaped by running for their lives from their
Boko Haram kidnappers. I have spoken to three who fled. All want to
be doctors and work as medical helpers in
their communities. But for now, their lives are
on hold. They are unable to finish their exams, unable
to find a safe place to study near home and
are still in fear of another attack from Boko
Haram. They have lost a year of their
schooling and they are traumatised by the
kidnapping of their friends. For a teenage girl, eight weeks in captivity
could have life-time consequences — and for
their families it is torture.

The idea that your
daughter should go to school one day and
never return is every parent’s nightmare.

Not
to know whether they have been molested, trafficked or are even alive is a living hell. These girls were abducted for the sole reason
that their captors believe that girls have no
right to an education. Yet this civil rights struggle is being fought out,
brutally and — for most of the time — shamefully
unobserved. On one side, terrorists, murderers, rapists and
cowards, hell-bent on acts of depravity. On the
other, defiant, relentless, brave-beyond-
comprehension young girl-heroes and boy-heroes
desperately fighting for a future but, sadly, in a
world largely oblivious to their plight. In Britain and in the United States, we do find out.

We do learn about abuse and horror from across
the globe and we do react. But it’s often too late,
and then, inevitably, it’s always too little. We
should not fail young people, but it seems like we
always do. But we can’t forget. We owe them. We can’t give
up because they won’t have given up.

they saw the men because they believed they were soldiers, but then the men opened fire and started
shooting people dead.

The Truth About Eating Before Bed

"Eating before bed makes you gain fat."Sigh. Eating right before bed does not make you gain fat. It's actually quite the opposite. Eating before bed will not only help you build muscle, it will also improve recovery between training sessions, games and practices.

Just be sure to follow these simple rules when you eat before bed.

Rule 1: Choose Slow-Digesting Protein

This can come from cottage cheese, chicken breast, lean turkey breast or casein supplements. Each of these protein sources contains protein that digests slowly and feeds the muscles throughout the night. They are also high in leucine, the amino acid responsible for stimulating the protein mTOR, which activates muscle protein synthesis. Consume 14-30 grams of slow-digesting protein 30 minutes before bed. Stay away from red meat, whey concentrate and isolate proteins, since these digest more quickly, leaving you without critical nutrients.

Rule 2: Choose CarbohydratesWisely

Carbohydrates don't deserve their bad rap. The body needs them to replenish glycogen stores post-workout and to limit the rate of muscle protein breakdown. Having carbohydrates at night can diminish the rate at which muscle protein breakdown occurs while you sleep.

The key is to stick with high-fiber vegetables and fruits that are low in sugar and won't elicit too large of an insulin response, especially if your goals are to lose fat and build muscle. Cherries and berries are good selections, because they are low on the glycemic index. Each is high in vitamins C and E, which play important roles in controlling inflammation and soreness.

Stay away from starches high in sugar like candy, chips and bread. These foods generate a large insulin response, which aids in storing fat, and sugar can interfere with the sleep cycle. Consume under 20 grams of carbohydrates 30 to 60 minutes before bed.

Rule 3: Eat a Small Amount of Fat

Healthy fats from sources like oils and nuts are a great addition to your bedtime protein snack. Fats are resistant to water and, when ingested, slow the emptying of food in your stomach through the release of the hormone cholecystokinin. Therefore, the ingestion of fat helps those slow-digesting proteins feed your muscles even longer through the night. Almonds, nut butters and fish oil are great choices.

Examples of Easy Bedtime Meals

  • 1 cup 2% low-fat cottage cheese
  • 2-4 oz. chicken breast with 1 cup red peppers and 1/2 cup bing cherries
  • 2-4 oz. turkey with 1 cup almonds and 1 cup broccoli
  • Protein shake with 1 scoop of a low-carb protein blend, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, and 1 tbsp. of almond or peanut butter

Nigerian woman smuggled to
the UK to work as sex slave &
forced to undergo voodoo to
prevent her from running away

3 members of an international prostitution ring that
smuggled a Nigerian woman into the UK to work as
a sex slave under the threat of a voodoo curse
faced jail yesterday June 13, UK Daily Mail reports The gang conned the innocent 23-year-old into
flying to Heathrow Airport on a bogus passport
with the promise of education, a job and a
new home. Before leaving Nigeria, she was raped and
forced to go through a black magic ‘juju’ death
ritual to prevent her running away. But when the woman arrived in London, her
employment failed to materialize. Instead, she
was told she was destined to work as a sex
slave in Italy, a court heard. Convicted: Gang members; Johnson Olayinka (left)
and Florence Obadiaru (right). Continue... The plan was only thwarted when Italian authorities
spotted her forged ID and sent her back to the UK. It is believed the woman is just one of many
victims of the group, based in Africa, that traffics
young women through England to work as
prostitutes in mainland Europe. Olusoji Oluwafemi, 44, Johnson Olayinka, 45, and
Florence Obadiaru, 48, were convicted of
trafficking the woman into the UK for sexual
exploitation and arranging for her transfer to Italy.
Oluwafemi and Olayinka were also found guilty of
conspiring to get the woman a false passport. Oluwatosin Osoba, 48, was acquitted of the same
charge following a trial at the Old Bailey. Judge Rebecca Poulet said custody is inevitable
and sentence was adjourned until July 11.
The victim, who only spoke a little English, had
been recruited by a Nigerian local called Beneditta
in her home village near Benin City.
Her family had struggled financially since the death of her father in 2008, but she aspired to become a
nurse. In February 2011, Beneditta offered to help the
young woman by sending her to England to be
educated properly and get a job, the court heard. She was told the cost would be £40,000 - which
she would have to repay to the organisers.
Prosecutor Christopher Ames told the court: ‘She
had no idea at all what £40,000 was in her own
currency, her life had been very hard after her
father died, and she jumped at the chance to be educated and be trained for a job, and get away
from the desperation and misery of her current
family situation. ‘She was very excited, a naive young girl, at the
prospect of going abroad.’
She was sent to the Nigerian capital of Lagos on
March 23, 2011, to meet a man called Felis who
made her a false passport and coached her in
getting through UK immigration. ‘While he was doing that, he began to sexually
assault her’, said Mr Ames. ‘That led him to beat her with a belt and that in turn
led to him raping her that night.’
When she complained to Beneditta the next
morning, she was told: ‘It was what you should
have expected’.
She was then told to pose for photos with a man who would pretend to be her husband. In September 2011 she was summoned to the west
African country of Benin to get a visa. The woman
was then told to swear an oath to repay the money
in a ceremony that involved cutting her armpit and
pubic hair and taking finger nail clippings.
‘The oath she was solemnly required to take was to repay that money, £40,000, on pain of death if she
did not,’ said Mr Ames.
‘This was what was known as a juju ceremony.’
She was driven to Lagos on September 12, 2011
and put on a plane to the UK, meeting Olayinka at
Heathrow Airport. Olayinka, calling himself ‘Mike’, checked her into
the Marbella Hotel in Peckham, south London, and
took away her money and passport.
She was next taken to the house of Obadiaru, an
old friend of Beneditta’s, and kept there for a few
weeks with no sign of a job or education. Obadiaru’s son, who suffers from learning
difficulties, groped her on the first night in the
house in Brockley, southeast London.
But when she complained, Obadiaru allegedly told
her: ‘What do you think you are here for?’ The woman was told she was being sent to Italy on
October 3, 2011, and collected another false
passport from Olayinka’s home.
‘It was then for the first time that this very young
girl from a small village in Africa, miles away from
home, realised she was about to be sent to Italy to be forced into prostitution’, Mr Ames said. ‘She came to that gradual realisation, and she
suddenly remembered hearing conversations
between some men and their girls in Italy.
‘She couldn’t speak Italian and there was no
question of her being able to work in Italy in the
normal sense. ‘She became very upset and fearful of what
awaited her.’
The gang’s plan was thwarted by Italian
immigration officials, who stopped the woman on
an obviously forged passport at Milan Airport and
sent her straight back to the UK. After she was detained by immigration officials, the
woman led them to the alleged identity factory in
Osoba’s flat in South Bermondsey, southeast
London, and laptops which had been used to make
false documents by Olayinka. Mr Ames said the National Crime Agency launched
Operation Visionary after quizzing the woman ‘to
penetrate and stop the activities of an organised
crime group based in Africa and here in England,
which has as its aim the trafficking of vulnerable
young women from Nigeria to European countries, including Italy and France for the purpose of
prostitution’ Oluwafemi, of South Bermondsey, southeast
London, Olayinka, of Peckham Rye, southeast
London, and Obadiaru, of Brockley, south London
denied conspiracy to traffic a person to the UK for
the purpose of sexual exploitation, and conspiracy
to traffic a person out of the UK for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
Oluwafemi, Olayinka, and Osoba, of South
Bermondsey, southeast London, denied conspiracy
to commit an offence of possessing false identity
documents.
